Situated in South Eastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria is bordered by Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and Black Sea.

With exceptionally clear air and water resources, Bulgaria is one of the ecologically purest countries in Europe. There are 7 national parks, more than 3000 protected natural sites and 17 bio-spherical reserves. There are also 419 protected animal species and 63 protected types of plant. 
The 380 kilometres of beaches are amongst some of Europe's cleanest. Many of them have prestigious “Blue Flag” status. The region enjoys average summer temperatures of between 25-30 degrees. The season extends from April to October. Bulgarian Black Sea coast become one of the fastest growing summer destinations for the European tourists.
Bulgaria is also popular with its ski resorts like Bansko. It is the ski resort number one for Bulgaria having the most modern ski facilities. The town of Bansko is located on 925 m. above sea level, and its skiing area is on 2000-2600 m. During the last couple of years this resort is under a massive investment process with new hotels and resort facilities. A brand new resort area with super luxury hotels and holiday apartments is being developed just opposite the Gondola lift, which also makes Bansko the resort with the best hotels.
Borovets is the other popular winter resort in Bulgaria. Situated in Rila Mountains, it is about 1390 meters above sea level. There are also firs-class ski facilities, high class with luxury hotels, restaurants, discos, shopswhich make the resort perfect place to relax. Easy accessible – only few minutes from Samokov and 73km from Sofia (the capital of Bulgaria).

The climate in Bulgaria is moderate continental with four yearly seasons and average annual temperature of 10.5 degrees centigrade. The coldest month is January with an average temperature of 0 degrees centigrade. The average air temperature in the summer is 30 degrees c. and the average water temperature - 25 degrees c.
The currency is the Lev which is now linked to the Euro. Most major transactions such as the purchasing property are carried out in Euros.
